The majority of Germans have agreed that climate action should be a top priority for the government

Mainstream German fintech blog Der-Bank interviews Meniga CEO and discusses climate solutions in the wake of the recent promises made with the UN.

The results of Germany’s elections may seem blurred but the country’s recent commitment to Climate Action is clear as day. The country signed up to be part of several coalitions for sweeping changes such as The No New Coal compact and detailed their personal commitments, like increasing the proportion of renewable energy in total electricity consumption to 56 per cent by 2030.

Leader in the German fintech space Dr. Hansjörg Leichsenring recently sat down with Meniga CEO Georg Ludviksson to have a chat about how banks and the financial services industry has a pivotal role to play when it comes to the fight against climate.

In their interview, Leichsenring asks Ludviksson for his thoughts on the following questions:

In your opinion, what were the biggest changes for banks due to the Corona pandemic?

  • Why is it important for banks to offer a first-class service through their digital channels?
  • What opportunities do digital engagement offer for banks?
  • Why are ESG and sustainability important for banks?
  • What green products and services can banks offer their customers?
