Meniga’s Head of Account Management shared insights on personalisation in digital banking at the Nordic Finance Innovation Women on 31st…

The Nordic Finance Innovation (NFI) was established in February 2018 with the purpose to build bridges between Nordic and global members in financial services, and to further global innovation and knowledge in the field. Earlier this month women of NFI came together at Islandsbanki in Reykjavik, Iceland to discuss the industry.

The event brought together attendees of the world’s leading financial institutions, innovative startups and fintechs as well as a range of other key industry stakeholders from Nordic and European countries.

The event had a fantastic line-up of speakers from Nordics and Europe. Key themes were “Leadership and Culture in Innovation”, “Implementation of a new core banking system in Iceland”, “Adapting to PSD2 and Open Banking” and “Customer engagement”.

Meniga’s Head of Account Management Eleni Vlami

Meniga’s Head of Account Management Eleni Vlami focused on what banks can learn from the user experience of Big Tech giants like Google & Amazon and Social Media leaders like Facebook, Fidbit and Strava.

Banking is at a crossroads. People expect more now than just the ability to view their balance and make transfers. People ask for insight, guidance and the rewarding feeling of time well spent while managing their finances. Many people now expect the same experience they receive from Fidbit, Fuolingo and Headspace from their bank

The presentation also covered how banks can rethink their approach to customer engagement and focus more on a personalized and habit-forming digital user experience by using data.

Eleni was joined by esteemed speakers such as Birna Einarsdóttir, CEO at Íslandsbanki, Marisol Menendez, Head of Open Banking at BBVA and Hege Toft Karlsen, Group CEO at Elka Gruppen.

The event was hosted by Danielle Neben, Partner at Maresías and former Head of Client Services at HSBC.
