The morning session included insightful presentations from Michal Panowicz, Sigga Sigurdardottir and Bo Olafsson, followed by a panel discussion with all of the morning presenters, all of whom emphasized their focus on customer centricity and FinTech collaboration. Michal focused on the digitalization of banks and the challenges of new disruptors that are increasingly available for the underbanked. Sigga discussed the importance of ongoing innovation and Banco Santander’s unique approach to a customer centric online banking experience. Bo then stressed the need for banks, like Islandsbanki, to be centralized, customer centric and error tolerant if they wish to stay relevant to customers.

In addition to internal speakers from Meniga, the afternoon session featured Gummi Hafsteinsson and Thierry Mennesson. Gummi spoke remotely about the evolution of consumer computing and how mobile has become the new tech ecosystem, while Thierry talked about the emergence of new actors in the financial services and the changes that will follow with the implementation of PSD2, which inevitably will lead to modular banking in Europe.
After a full day of excellent presentations and interesting conversations, guests were invited to take a relaxing dip in the Blue Lagoon for a unique, beautiful and rejuvenating experience.
